Photograph your tools on a sheet of paper. Get back a Gridfinity insert with a pocket cut to each one — ready to print.
How it works
- Lay your tools on a sheet of paper, arranged how you want them stored.
- Take one photo. The paper is the ruler: a US Letter page is 215.9 × 279.4 mm exactly, so once the corners are found and the perspective undone, millimetres per pixel is known rather than estimated.
- Adjust the depth and fit, then export a 3MF and print it.
Getting the sharpest outlines
- Even light. A hard shadow can read as another tool — coloured paper or the flash both fix it.
- Leave about 10 mm between tools, roughly a finger's width. Closer than 5 mm and two tools share one pocket.
- Keep everything on the paper, corners included.
Your photos stay on your phone
All of the image processing — finding the paper, flattening it, segmenting the tools, tracing the outlines, building the mesh — happens on the device. No photo, outline or model is ever uploaded.
